Digital donor wall software for recognition displays
CloudyFy TV donor walls store your supporters as records (name, gift, tier, date, and photo) and display them on a screen sorted the way your development office wants. A new gift is a row you add, not a plaque you order.
What is a digital donor wall?
A digital donor wall is a screen that lists the people and organisations who gave, generated from a donor list you maintain rather than from engraved plates.
It solves the two problems every physical recognition wall has. The first is time: an engraved name is weeks away from the gift that earned it, and a campaign that closes in March gets recognised in June. The second is correction: a misspelled name, a title that changed, or a supporter who asks to be removed all require metalwork.
In CloudyFy TV a donor wall is a named wall with its own currency and its own sort order. Each entry carries a name, an amount, a recognition tier, an optional gift date, an optional photo, and a privacy flag. You can run more than one wall, so the permanent benefactors wall and the current campaign wall are separate lists on separate screens.
How does a donor wall work on CloudyFy TV?
You build the list once, then add gifts as they land.
Create the wall
Name it, set its currency in rupees or dollars, and choose how entries are ordered: by tier, by amount, by name, or by date.Bring your list in
Import your existing donors up to 2,000 rows at a time. The import reports how many rows it processed, how many it inserted, how many duplicates it skipped, and the exact row number of anything it could not read.Put the wall on a screen
Drop a donor wall block into a layout and publish it. Portrait suits a long list of names, landscape suits tiered columns, and a video wall suits a lobby where the whole surface is the wall.Add gifts as they arrive
A new entry appears on the screen at the next update, in the right tier and the right position, with no republishing and no plaque order.
What you can do with a CloudyFy TV donor wall
Five tiers, named the way recognition actually works
Entries carry one of five tiers: Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze and Friend. Friend is the default, so a gift entered in a hurry lands somewhere sensible rather than nowhere. Tier is a property of the entry, so a donor who moves up after a second gift moves up on the wall.
Order the wall four different ways
Sort by tier when the wall is about recognition levels, by amount when it is about scale, by name when it is a directory of supporters, or by date when it is a live campaign and recency is the point. Changing the sort order changes the wall, not the data.
Honour a privacy request properly
Marking a donor as opted out removes them from the payload that is sent to the screens, so the name is not on the wall at all. It is not hidden by the display and it is not relying on a renderer to respect a flag. The record stays in your database for your own accounting, and the screen never sees it.
Record what you actually know
An amount can be left blank, and blank means not recorded, which is a different fact from a gift of zero. Gift dates are optional too. A wall that lists anonymous or unquantified gifts is a normal wall, not a broken one.
Money that does not drift
Amounts are stored as integer minor units, paise or cents, in the wall's own currency, so no total is ever a rounded floating-point figure. Currency belongs to the wall rather than the entry, which is what stops one board mixing symbols.
Photos and a face for the top tier
An entry can carry a photo URL, so a named-benefactor wall can feature portraits rather than just a list. Mix that with the layout builder and the wall can carry your logo, a campaign video and a message beside the names.
Control who can edit it
Donor lists are personal data about your supporters. CloudyFy TV runs role-based access with per-module permissions, so the development office can maintain the wall while the marketing team that manages the rest of your screens cannot open it. See roles and permissions.
See roles and permissionsKeeps showing when the network drops
Players cache their content, so a lobby wall keeps displaying the last published list through a connection outage rather than going black in front of the people it is thanking.
Is a digital donor wall better than an engraved one?
There is no study measuring what a digital donor wall does to giving, and anyone quoting one to you should be asked for the citation.
The defensible comparison is operational, and it is stark:
- Time from gift to recognition: an engraved plaque wall takes weeks, batched into a production run; a CloudyFy TV donor wall updates within about a second.
- Cost of an extra name: a new plate, every time, versus a row in a list.
- Fixing a misspelled name: re-cut the plate, versus editing the field.
- Removing a name on request: physically remove it, versus marking the donor opted out so they leave the payload.
- Running a second wall for a campaign: a second physical wall, versus a second wall with its own sort order and currency.
- Adding photos or a thank-you video: not possible on an engraved wall, versus blocks in the same layout.
- The strongest argument for the digital version is not that it raises more money. It is that the wall is accurate on the day someone stands in front of it.
Which industries use donor walls?
Anywhere philanthropy is public and continuing. Places of worship and community trusts use the same wall for donor and dedication lists.
In short
A CloudyFy TV donor wall is a maintained list rendered on a screen: five tiers, four sort orders, optional photos and gift dates, amounts in exact minor units, and a per-donor opt-out that keeps a name off the screen entirely. Bring your existing donors in 2,000 rows at a time with a per-row error report, then add gifts as they land. Donor Walls is included for every company on Starter, Standard and Pro.
